Mustang region of northern-central Nepal, lies in the rain shadow of the Dhaulagiri massif. It is unlike any other place in the country, it is characterized by its barren, windswept humps of mountain desert earth, all shades of pink, purple, brown, and gray but still a very magnificent place to trek through.
Geologically and culturally being a part of the Tibetan plateau, the Upper Mustang trek allows you to visit the whole region in just one trek. Trekkers will follow the lovely river called Kali Gandaki and walk beside its river bed for couple of days. We traverse through villages like Kagbeni, Lo Manthang and just so you know, Lo Manthang is a very important place for travelers and locals. It used to be the capital of Mustang kingdom in previous times. Upon reaching Lo-Manthang, we shall have at least one extra day for doing some sightseeing around this unique walled settlement. As our final point we then descend to Muktinath (3,750 m), a highly venerated sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. The greatest attribute of this place is that it represents the presence of all the five elements air, sky, earth, fire and water in their distinctive form. It is quite astonishing to see trees growing at such an unusual and high altitude. Afterward we then move on to Jomsom from where we take a flight to Pokhara.

Baudhanath Stupa. There is nowhere quite like Bodhnath. Asia’s largest stupa (temple) pulses with life as thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a kora (ritual circumnavigation) of the dome, to spin the many prayer wheels, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gazes out from the gilded central tower. You will see Tibetan monks in maroon robes and with shaved heads wander around the prayer flag–decked streets. You’re welcome to spin the prayer wheels, enjoy the view, or take a cup of local tea in one of the many cafes and watch the many people perform their prayers.
Pashupati Temple. One of the most mesmerizing rituals at Pashupatinath Temple is the Pashupati Bagmati Aarati (a religious ritual which involves cleansing in the river, or in oil). The river divides the temple into two sides, with the main Pashupatinath Temple being on one side and the location of the Aarati is performed on the other.Bagmati has great importance in Hindu religion.
